£100,000 bingo jackpot for gran

A gran who had to give up work through ill health is celebrating after she scooped £100,000 at bingo. The 57-year-old had been trying to land the jackpot every week for nearly 30 years.

She walked away with £100,163 after winning the National Bingo Game at the County Club in Cumbernauld. The former supermarket supervisor's full house in 42 numbers beat 500 other clubs playing the game on Friday.

Now the gran, who asked not to be named, has promised her daughter a holiday and extra Christmas gifts for her three grandchildren. She said: "My daughter took me away last year and now I can return the favour."
